Alternative Therapies

We are in an age now where we have choice in many different areas of our lives and this includes healthcare. We have the traditional types of medicine that the hospitals and GPs give and prescribe – but we also have the choice to look at alternative methods of healthcare such as homeopathy or Acupuncture Peterborough.

When I say alternative, I should really say, traditional, as many of these were in accepted use long before modern medicine was invented. The modern techniques have now supplanted them as the medicine of choice, but many people do still firmly believe that the older therapies have a place in our modern lives.

Some of these so-called 'alternative' therapies have in fact been in use for thousands of years and it is naive and arrogant to suggest that they are new fads which have not been proven. If they worked for the ancient Chinese, who are we to say that some of these therapies have no foundation?

I am not saying to ditch all modern medicine and only go back to natural medicine – after all, the modern medicines work for many illnesses. But I like to combine modern and traditional for the best results.

Alternative therapies should be used with care, as, after all, they have powerful medicinal effects, but used carefully they can work very well.
